Impact of Climate Information Services on Crop Yield in Ebonyi State, Nigeria

This paper assessed crop farmers’ access and utilization of climate information services (CIS) impact CIS use on yields in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The multi-stage sampling procedure was used to select 405 farmers from the data were collected through a survey using questionnaire. We employed descriptive statistics, endogenous treatment effect, Heckman probit selection model analyze collected. result indicates that majority (89%) accessed common sources include agricultural extension officers, fellow farmers, radio. study shows 88% making farming decisions. Farmers’ age, household size, marital status, experience, income contact, ownership television, radio, mobile phone, proximity market, workshop/training participation, events experienced, knowledge appropriate application fertilizer significantly influenced both CIS. planning for activities increased rice, maize, cassava yields. demonstrates important contribution production. therefore recommend communities should be increased.
